Portable iPhone party

No bigger than a credit card and as thick as a blister pack of chewing gum, the Card Speaker puts most every mp3 accessory to shame with its good looks and crisp fidelity. Designed by IDEA International, this little speaker is ideally suited for trips to the park, the beach, or anywhere you’d like to share a little music on the fly. It comes in either black or silver, with a mirror-polished back, and includes a protective carrying case, a 3.5 mm connection plug, and a USB battery charge cable. The speaker has an operating time of approximately five hours on a two-hour charge.

I'm often found in a place that is in dire need of music, but stuck with no speakers. I wonder how this bad boy sounds. It's on the Ghostly International store for $75.00 and I would trust anything that those guys rep.

It's an emotional day here at Tattoo Sound + Music. We've got new couches!
To celebrate, we brought in actor extraordinaire JAMIE WATSON! He may have just been here for a session, his session may have accidentally coincided with our couch delivery, we may have made him wait on a kitchen stool until the couches were put into place, but he's HERE and ready to sit.

"Ooooer!"

Smellin' fiiiiiiiiiiine.

2010: The year of Tiga remixes

TIGA – VINYL RELEASES FOR “SEX O’CLOCK”, “OVERTIME”, “GENTLE GIANT” and “LOVE DON’T DANCE HERE ANYMORE”

Beginning January 18th, Tiga will release a series of remix 12”s for “Sex O’Clock”, “Overtime”, “Gentle Giant” and “Love Don’t Dance Here Anymore”, songs from his 2009 album Ciao! The ambitious project features some of the most respected and sought-after producers in dance music.

“For these remixes, I looked to Titans. Standing on the roof of my greenhouse, I called out, ‘Hey you, get off of that impossible cloud and into my car. We’re gonna drive all night ‘til we hit Remix City!’”

Sex O’Clock

Remixes by Matias Aguayo, Jamie Lidell and Trevor Jackson.

“I asked them, ‘When can you have the remixes ready by?’ They said, ‘About a month from now.’ I said, ‘Time. That’s precisely what the song is about. Use that.’”

Overtime

Remixes by Adam Beyer and Brodinski.

“These producers represent two sides of the Commemorative Dance Coin. To me, variety is that spicy element that seasons the living of our very lives.”

Gentle Giant

Remixes by Seth Troxler and Mathew Jonson

“When a song means a lot to you personally, having it remixed is a lot like sending your child to undergo plastic surgery. In this case, though, it was like having the surgery done by doctors you respect as musicians.”

Love Don’t Dance Here Anymore

Remix by Carl Craig. Instrumental version by Tiga

“It goes without saying that having Carl Craig remix my song is an honor. For the instrumental version, I removed all the vocals personally. It took nine hours. By the end, I was hysterical.”

Tiga could not be more excited about these vinyl releases, and wants nothing more than fans to share in his enthusiasm. “If you purchase all four, I will write your name and credit card information in a special leather-bound book. Also one copy will include a silver ticket, which you can trade in for a golden ticket. Which does nothing.”

“I’m a dreamer. I see the world through groove-colored glasses, ever watching the horizon for the whole world to come dancing into my arms.”

Sleep Talkin Man

So there is this British woman who had a husband that would sleep talk. Saying really off the wall and sometimes explicit things. Then she had the genius idea to start recording these and start a blog. Here are some of the fantastic quotes that come out of this guys mouth, some are TOTALLY usable in everyday conversation:

"Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!"

"Robots making sweets? But they've got no taste buds! Metal smarties."

"Hey I know you, but I don't like your face. Take it off... That's much better, much better."

Go to sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com to read more. Geez...I really wish I had someone to exploit. :-(

Wonderland

The countdown is on to Tim Burton's take on Alice In Wonderland [in theatres March 5th 2010], but illustrator Maggie Taylor had her own version down in 2006. Surrealism at its finest.

Music: Disco Ruido!

Maybe it's because I'm having Mexican tonight for dinner. But Disco Ruido is really making me smile today. They're an electro dance band from Mexico and I am loving the lead singer Mercedes' vocals. Now I just have to figure out how I can see them live.

Check out their tunes at www.myspace.com/discoruido

I'd like to lounge on these clouds...I think?

I've been looking at these chairs for a solid 45 seconds and can't really figure out how a human could logically "lounge" in them. But I'd really like these to be in our office.

Inspired by cumulus clouds that seemed limitless in configuration, but all have a softness to them. They are made from high quality fiberglass reinforced with stonecast inner walls and work great indoors and outdoors. Available in white, bronze or black in both a loveseat and a lounge chair in early 2010. Designed by Jason Phillips for The Phillips Collection.

Use your webcam. Be in a music video.

C-Mon & Kypski are making a music video for their new video "More is Less", and they want YOU to be in it. The idea is one of those where you will say "why didn't I think of that?". Basically they show you a frame from the music video, you recreate the shot using your webcam and submit it. The video is updated every hour with submissions until the video is complete.

Music Video: Magic Wands "Kiss Me Dead"

I think it's time everyone falls in love.

Music: HATCHMATIK

I first came across Montreal's HATCHMATIK with his insanely good remix of Animal Collective's "My Girls". It made me a fan. He's also done official remixes for the likes of Thunderheist, Yo Majesty, MIA, Chromeo, and Kanye West. The word got to me too late that he was in town on the weekend playing a Peer Pressure party at the Drake Underground with A-Rock. I found this out 1 hour after the show finished. DAMN YOU 2010! Either way, please check out his remixes and call me right away if you hear when he is playing next.
