Music Video: Miike Snow - Black and Blue

I went to the sold out Miike Snow show last night at Wrongbar. And it was SWEATY. I don't know how the band stayed in their matching black track jackets the entire set. What I do know is, that they are fantastic song writers.

Skateboard Tetris

A crew of skateboarders out of San Francisco made this video by attaching neon Tetris pieces to their back and skating down a hill. Nice!

WOAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

via It's Nice That

Rafaël Rozendaal has created this psychedelic (possibly seizure inducing) website that kept me entertained for longer than it should have. Move your mouse to speed up or slow down depending on your level of nausea.

Music Video: Thom Yorke - The Hollow Earth

Music Video: Black Mold "Metal Spiderwebs"

Here's a fantastic video from Chad VanGaalen's side project "Metal Spiderwebs". Word is that Chad created and animated this video himself. Reminds me of Highschool Biology class doodles come to life. Lay of the acid Chad!!

Daft Punk's DJ Hero

Lately Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter have been turning up in new and noteworthy contexts -- like going helmetless in clubs. And soundtracking films. But none are as new or noteworthy as their previously reported decision to license their likeness to the careful custodians of likenesses at Activision for the premiere installment of DJ Hero, the game that lets you tweak knobs and cue beats like a bona fide celebrity DJ. (If you Guitar Hero junkies were tired of people ragging on you for imitating guitar playing by pressing buttons, get ready for some imitating-pressing-buttons-by-pressing-buttons meta-ragging.) Actually it's more than just their likenesses the robots have lent Activision; in addition, Daft Punk have allowed the game to depict their stage sets and created 11 exclusive mixes that blend their bangers with -- according to this trailer's roll call -- Queen, Boogie Down Productions, No Doubt, Gary Numan, N.A.S.A., Beastie Boys, Hashim, and Young M.C. Let's watch it while thinking about the embarrassing situations we can have the unlocked robot avatars DJ. I'll start: bar mitzvah.

DJ Hero is out 10/27.

Video: Boy Crisis "The Fountain Of Youth"

Boy Crisis is putting out some of the best videos this year. This is fantastic!

Play Doh...OHHHHHH

These ads from Singapore for Play Doh are really pushing the boundaries. I like. Unfortunately the website where I found the images didn't list the agency. If anyone knows...let me know.

Francoise Nielly

Images via The Cool Hunter

She has explored the different facets of "image" all her life , through painting, photography, roughs, illustrations and virtual, computer generated animated graphics. It is clear now that painting is her direction and her passion.

Françoise Nielly's painting is expressive, exhibiting a brute force, a fascinating vital energy. Oil and knife combine to sculpt her images from a material that is , at the same time, biting and incisive, charnel and sensual. Whether she paints the human body or portraits, the artist takes a risk : her painting is sexual, her colors free, exuberant, surprising, even explosive, the cut of her knife incisive, her color pallet dazzling.

She lives and paints in Paris near Montmartre; shows and sells her work in Europe, in Canada and in the United States.

Music: Diamond Rings

I know absolutely nothing about Diamond Rings. But the man behind it goes by the name John O (Karen's long lost brother?). He actually just came into my world 20 minutes ago by way of The Walrus music blog. I do know that he's from Toronto, wears make up, and I like listening to the one song on his myspace. That's more than enough for me to blog about.

Check out his video with fantastic use of lo-fi green screen!
