Music: HATCHMATIK

I first came across Montreal's HATCHMATIK with his insanely good remix of Animal Collective's "My Girls". It made me a fan. He's also done official remixes for the likes of Thunderheist, Yo Majesty, MIA, Chromeo, and Kanye West. The word got to me too late that he was in town on the weekend playing a Peer Pressure party at the Drake Underground with A-Rock. I found this out 1 hour after the show finished. DAMN YOU 2010! Either way, please check out his remixes and call me right away if you hear when he is playing next.

Juliana Neufeld display!

Juliana Neufeld just recently created and installed this amazingly wonderful display for Element Skateboards Power To The Planet campaign in the window Underworld Skate store on Rue St. Catherines in Montreal. She's currently also displaying pieces at our art gallery at 483 Eastern Ave. in Toronto. Please stop by and see in either cities! Or both!!

Portfolio Night 7

Y&R Toronto have announced they'll be hosting this year's Portfolio Night 7 in the T Dot, woot! Designers, get them portfolios all shiny! The fun kicks off on June 11th, 2009. For those of you who've never heard of Portfolio Night, it's the brainchild of our friends over at ihaveanidea; an evening where aspiring Art Directors or Copywriters [i.e. students] are given the opportunity to show their portfolios to 3 different Creative Directors. Each student spends roughly 20 minutes with each of their 3 CD's. This is a great opportunity to get some feedback on your work, and for potential recruiters to see what's out there, so please try to check it out.

Music: Mixylodian

Here's a band from Montreal that just released their single "Fairly Well" in Australia. They sound like Mates of State's extended family. And the ever changing family the band began as Mike Wray's solo project and then has grown into a nine-piece horn and string collective, down to a five piece pop ensemble, a four piece boy-band to a two-piece chiptunes dance duo. It's exhausting, but isn't change good??

Gig Montreal: Hollerado

So I can't take credit for finding them. Heck, I can't even take credit for seeing them, but HOLLERADO is in Montreal tomorrow night, and any self respecting Weezer fan should give these guys a go.
