Skateboard Stop Motion Animation

Tilles Singer made this short by cutting out the skaters from skateboarding magazines and put them in action using stop motion animation. The result is very cool

Mekanism Skateboards once again impresses, having worked for their second 2009 project with Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The artist is well known for his large exhibition structures and most recently for the impressive sun artwork. With Mekanism the artist of course worked on skateboard decks. The “Your Mercury Ocean” decks have a silver reflective upper and for the first time the artist also reworked the upper structure of the board into a 3D structure. The various levels on the board, give the impression of a wave pattern. The artist worked on overall 90 skatedecks, as well as 10 artist proofs and 10 exhibition pieces. Without a doubt this has to be the most impressive project by Mekanism to date.

A crew of skateboarders out of San Francisco made this video by attaching neon Tetris pieces to their back and skating down a hill. Nice!

Thankfully, Pennsylvania-based Deckstools is here to keep art from the trash heap and to add style to your pad with their striking line of furniture made from reclaimed skateboards.

Juliana Neufeld just recently created and installed this amazingly wonderful display for Element Skateboards Power To The Planet campaign in the window Underworld Skate store on Rue St. Catherines in Montreal. Dust La Rock

Dust La Rock is known for his album cover work for Fool's Gold Records which includes Kid Sister, Kid Cudi, The Cool Kids, and A-Trak. He's art director for Fool's Gold Records, Syintific Skateboards, and also designer-in-residence at Studio B. This Thursday, April 23rd, he'll be showcasing some of his work in a show sponsored by Red Stripe and Fool's Gold. There'll be live DJ sets by Dave1 of Chromeo.

Here's another viral video's making the rounds where I really envy what's going on. I can't skateboard too well, but I sure can blow up balloons. That's half the battle right?? Click on the photo for the Nestlé video promoting their Aero chocolate bar featuring Bob Burnquist skating through a sea of brown balloons. I'm hungry.
