Blues in D

"Blues in D" started as Dylan and Cody Ellis on lead guitars, Tura Cousins-Wilson on drums and Ben McPhee rocking the vocals, bass and rhythm guitar.

On June 13th, 2008, the band suffered a terrible loss.  Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin were gunned down in their vehicle while idling at Richmond and Walnut St. in Toronto.  After such a tragic event the band changed their name from "The BDC Blues Band" to "Blues in D" in honour of their former friend and band member.  The band now consists of Cody Ellis, Jeff Bader, Andrei Zagorevski, Tura Cousins-Wilson, and Ben McPhee.

Their recent EP "Leaving Houston was produced, mixed and engineered by Dan Horton here at Tattoo.
It showcases their raw, passionate and bluesy roots.

Check out their songs here.

Reema Major & Entertainment Tonight

Reema Major is blowing up!

16 year old, Reema Major came by our studio with her management team at G7 Records (Manufactured and Distributed by Universal Music Canada, a Division of UMG) to lay down some tracks.

Entertainment Tonight was present filming portions of the session as well as interviewing Reema.

Here's some of the shots of the day and her interview in our studio that aired on Entertainment Tonight this past Thursday.

She is clearly one talented and integrated female in the hip hop community.

Glen and Danielle - Groomsmen Speech

So our good friends Glen D'Souza & Danielle Tsisko decided to get hitched!

Drew got a call from Jeff MacEachern over at Taxi2 asking us to be part of a special project. We were delighted when he noted that they were re-writing the lyrics to Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" and wanted to come into our studio to re-record it. The evening was of epic proportions and we had such a blast recording all the groomsmen.

Big shout outs to the talent groomsmen who busted it out with so much enthusiasm and energy; M.C Gerson, D.J. Johnny Jung, Mix Master MacEachern, Geoff Donovan aka "Da Hype -Man", our skilled engineer Dave Clarke & Tyson Kuteyi for his exceptional track direction.

You can check out the video here.

Congratulations you two! We wish you nothing but the best and a lifetime of happiness.
Love, from all of us here at Tattoo.

Drew poisons minds of young writers at Humber College

Last week, writer/director Drew Frohmann gave a scintillating (he claims) lecture to the post-grad copywriting class at Humber College. Instructor (and award-winning writer at Riddoch Communications) Natalie Antaya invited Drew to come talk about the wonders of radio. Armed with a slew of great radio spots and some fancy cue cards, Drew talked about why radio is a giant invisible sandbox, gave tips on how to write great radio, how to write crap radio, and told a couple of dirty jokes to boot. Thanks to the lovely Nat A. for the opportunity, and to the students for being so smart and nice enough to clap at the end!

One of the spots Drew played for the class, from the award-winining National Thoroughbred Association campaign can be found here.
