Erm...
We sort of thought the photo would explain that bit.

It's been 2 years since I originally saw the blueprints from Gehry International revealing Toronto-born Frank Gehry's new designs for the AGO. Finally the day to see the design in practice is HERE. TODAY!
If you're in Toronto this weekend, you've got the luck of the draw. The AGO is offering free entry to anyone passing through its doors from November 14th - 16th.
Today is the first day for free public entry - go now!
All the details can be accessed here.

MacLaren McCann Toronto handled the promotional campaign.

Toronto, you so lucky!!
Not only do you get to witness the grand opening of an worldwide architectural gem for FREE, but it's the final weekend for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
[Contain the joy]

We have to congratulate ZIG Toronto for making this event somewhat exciting:

ADCC Awards

Behold - the Magic Book of the ADCC Awards:

[Angelic choir sings]

Last night's ADCC awards kicked off at 6:30 at the MacMillan Theatre, Toronto, followed by a banging after party at The ROM.

Congratulations to Saatchi & Saatchi Toronto's VP and Creative Director Daniel Charron who won a Merit award for our TA2 relaunch and design. The TA2 can be viewed on page 79 in The Book of GRAPHIC DESIGN section.
We love it:

Félicitations, Daniel! Without you, we'd have no TA-2.

More congratulations are in order for Steve Mykolyn [CD], Nathan Monteith [AD], Dave Luxton [AD] and Stefan Wegner [CW] at TAXI Toronto for winning a GOLD in the Business to Consumer category for the Aviva Microsite campaign.

TATTOO did the Music & Sound Design for this GOLD winning project.

A City Renewal Project from Dan Bergeron on Vimeo.

In "A Night at The Roxbury" [God shed a tear for a classic] Steve and Doug Butabi reveal their plans for the world's first outdoors-indoors nightclub.
Exactly ten years later, a brilliant thing has happened in Toronto.

Mr. Loogie - the entrance to an outdoor street indoors - depicts Toronto's lost shopfronts in gallery form. Located at 39 Lisgar Street, according to the Press Release from A City Renewal Project, "The project focuses on the state of decay within the city, renewing these dilapidated buildings as artistic monuments and documenting their history amidst the gentrified frenzy of urban change."

The Butabi's would be very proud. Emilio!

Open until November 23rd.

Happy Wednesdays

If Tuesday is meant to be the most productive day of the week, Wednesday should be the day that provides you with enough inspiration to get you through until Friday...

Ladies! :

But in all seriousness, for this particular Wednesday I'm going to pass you on to the following concert. In April 2008 Halifax's Buck 65 [hip hop poet extraordinaire, pictured above] teamed up with Symphony Nova Scotia to produce an incredible concert set at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Conducted by Dinuk Wijeratne, the concert features Buck 65's vocal and turntable expertise mixed in with Norman Adams' solo cello, Terry O'Mahoney's solo percussion and Symphony Nova Scotia's orchestral talent.
Flagged as one of the most innovative musical collaborations this year, stream it anytime by clicking here.

This broadcast is rated E for easy-listening.
